Don’t discount Reddit.com when trying to get your site indexed quickly by search engines. It’s not as big as Digg or Stumble, but can still get you some good stuff. Read below (a forum post I found) to see what I mean:

Step one: Set up a current events blog (a name that can cover everything). I’d use MU with out subdomains…. but just so I can squeeze in those keywords a little more… and have a different template for each topic easily.

I saw this posted on a forum that I frequent. It offers a great viral marketing idea… playing on people’s fears to get some exposure and money. If anyone tests this out, let me know how it goes by posting a comment! Thanks!

You need to do a lot more than the “easy stuff” to see results from your link building efforts. Search engine results take a LONG LONG time to see good results. You need to get links from many different sources around the ‘net. Social bookmarking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, etc. will send you some good, quick traffic but for the most part, it will only be temporary. You will need to search around and get links from other sources as well. Think of it like the difference between food you consume.
