Make pages out of incoming search terms

A solid idea to get some high search engine traffic is to collect incoming search terms from Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc. and then make blog posts revolving around that search term and then somehow adding just enough content to the post to make it good enough for a Google rank.

Content does not equal king

Content is not necessarily king.  Content + marketing = king.

Content is important for obtaining large reader ships and returning visitors. But over the years I’ve seen many sites that have page after page of 100% unique content but still fail to get over 200 uniques a day. In saying this, I’ve also seen small niche sites with correct SEO done that can pull 300-500 uniques from search engines from multiple keywords.

Auto-blogging software… AKA “Splogs” are a bad idea

If you are thinking about creating an automatically updating blog using WPomatic or a similar program… let me advise against it!  The allure of creating a auto-updating blog is high because 1) there is no work involved and 2) you automatically build links by getting ping backs on other blog’s comments.  Both of these things are true: you will do little work and build lots of links.  But in the end, you will get banned by Google.

Reddit is also another good way to get your site indexed

Don’t discount Reddit.com when trying to get your site indexed quickly by search engines. It’s not as big as Digg or Stumble, but can still get you some good stuff.  Read below (a forum post I found) to see what I mean:
