RSS feeds are very useful for frequently updated sites; namely blogs. People often have feed readers to watch multiple sites at once. They then only really click to visit a site if a new post or update shows up on the RSS feed. How they work is…Basically, you just have a file on your server. Anyone that visits your site can tell their “RSS Reader” to check it every time that they use their reader. So it’ll download and display the contents of that file in their reader–if their reader understands the contents.

If you are serious about blogging, you probably shouldn’t use Blogger to operate your MAIN blog. Why? Because Wordpress is better - more options, more plug ins, more control. If you want to make your blog/site big… you need to be hosted on your own server and not use someone else’s free service. What I recommend is to use Blogger to drive some early links to your *HOSTED ON YOUR SERVER* Wordpress blog.

So you’re already ranked on the first page of Google for your keywords and there is seemingly no more SEO work for you to do. Content is not necessarily king. Content + marketing = king.
Content is important for obtaining large reader ships and returning visitors. But over the years I’ve seen many sites that have page after page of 100% unique content but still fail to get over 200 uniques a day. In saying this, I’ve also seen small niche sites with correct SEO done that can pull 300-500 uniques from search engines from multiple keywords.

The good thing about Wordpress is that there are so many different plugins to let you customize it all you want. The original software package, as amazing as it is, is not 100% search engine friendly.
