If you are using duplicate content, a quick tip that might help your content appear more legit would be to use a piece of flash somewhere on the page, maybe a video or something.

Well, youtube links just went from being nearly worthless to being completely worthless. Statistics and Data used to just be a hidden division of 5 external no-followed links, now it’s totally disappeared from the html and only gets transferred to the page (via ajax) upon a click. There’s no chance these will still count as backlinks is there?

Fresh content matters! It has the ability to rank quickly, and get indexed quickly. However, adding fresh content works better with domains that already have authority status.

It’s a big misconception - having duplicate content does NOT mean your domain will definitely be penalized! Need proof? Just check the all the huge news sites: CNN, Reuters, Yahoo, etc. They all publish news from the same agency sources.
