I saw a method posted on a forum I visit frequently and thought it was so good that I had to share it.  It’s a real “outside the box” way to grab up some text links.

1. Google: inurl:.edu keyword (.edu used here because of the weight of edu links… but you can really use anything you want)
2. Use Free Online Broken Link Checker to scan the sites you want links from.
3. If you find a link to a expired domain(preferably with anchor text related to your site), you can register that domain and 301 redirect it to your site.

I’ll test this method out soon and let you guys know how it goes… (Same goes for you guys… if you try it, post a comment with your results)
