To get the most out of your SEO efforts, you should try possible varying your anchor text titles on internal links.  If your targeted phrase is “buy phones” and you make the kind of variations like “buy phones”, “buy phones here”, “buy new phones”, then it will still target your main phrase and it will also show Google that it’s not auto-linked.

On one of my sites, for example, here is what I do: I link to my pages with the exact keyword from my sidebar menu, and a menu in my footer (Keyword | Page 2 | Page 3)

If I link to myself from within my content, I use the exact phrase the first time and then vary the anchor text slightly or just use a secondary keyword with any other links in the content on that page.  For example… if I write an article about link building and in the article I mention the phrase “link exchanges,” I will link that text to my Link Exchanges category… If in the future, I want to link to this article, I might use a variation of some sorts such as “Exchanging links” or something.

When it comes to other sites linking in to you, I personally prefer to have the text vary a fair amount. All the possibilities contain the primary shortest-term key phrase, and as often as possible the 2nd most desirable (normally buy+keyword). But remember, variance is your friend.
