Getting TONS of links through Press Releases
Ideas, SEO, Viral Marketing May 4th, 2008Because reciprocal links don’t weigh heavy anymore with Google, you need to find some new ways to get some links pointing to your site. I posted some methods here… but one thing I didn’t talk about before was press releases.
I’ve had more than decent results creating one way links with Press Releases. Press releases are not just for professional journalists. Anyone – including YOU – can write a press release quite easily.
Press releases are cheap – just a few moments of your time – and can be widely submitted for free or little charge.
Your press releases can include your web site URL so if it gets picked up and published on the internet (thing Google News) you’ll be getting automatic back links to your site as well as the exposure. They are a good way to effortlessly have hundreds of backlinks roll onto your site.
A good service to use when creating a press release is PRweb. It might look a little bit expensive, but it can really help launch a new website or product. Also it gives you some fun ‘news’-ish content for your front page. Gives it an ‘official’ feeling. So… It’s not a bad idea to add credibility to the site. I used it on one of my sites so I could have a little thing saying “as seen on yahoo news” (since PRWEB will almost guarantee to get you on there).
A press release can launch a site and give it some serious juice. If you’re serious about a site. I would do it without thinking twice. If you think PRWeb is too expensive, do a Google search and find another one. There are many different services out there!
