How to get EDU and GOV backlinks
Ideas, SEO May 1st, 2008We all know that links from .edu and .gov sites are the most sought after. But how do you get these links? Since most of these sites are “official” sites, it is hard to get link exchanges from them. However, a lot of these sites have blogs and other types of comments systems set up. In order to search for them, search for this string in Google:
site:.edu inurl:blog “keyword”
or
site:.gov inurl:blog “keyword”
Replace “keyword” with a keyword you are targetting, and many blog posts will appear that are relevent to your niche.
There are also variations you can do for this. For example…
site:.edu inurl:blog “google” 2008/04
will allow you to specify the date of your post. (I’m sure there are other variations like this as well… I just have yet to figure them out. Please post a comment if you know any other little tricks)
