How to get your website indexed quickly by search engines
Ideas, SEO April 9th, 2008A lot of people with new sites have the problem of getting their site to appear on Google. There is a “Submit Your Site” page on the Google website, but it doesn’t promise to actually get your site listed. The ONLY sure-fire way to get indexed is to get other people to link to you.
When people link to your website, Google will eventually find your site the next time they crawl that person’s site. The problem with this is that it might take a long time before this happens.
A free, fast, and simple way to get a link that will get you indexed quickly on Google is Digg. Submitting pages to Digg has never failed in getting my web pages indexed. The best part about this is that they usually get indexed within 24 hours.
Why does a Digg link help so much? Well, the main reason is that they have a high Google page rank. Google page rank, often simplified as PR, is one tool Google uses in their algorithm of listing pages in their search results page. It also is a good tool in telling how often a site will get crawled by the Google robots.
Digg has a PR of 8/10, which is considered to be a phenomenal rank. (One of the best.) Few sites actually reach a PR of 7. But Digg doesn’t actually have any magical powers that will make Google find you faster… actually a link on any page with a high PR will do. Other sites such as StumbleUpon, Propeller, Squidoo, Sphinn, Reddit, etc. also offer ways for you to get FREE links from high PR sites.
The key to get your site indexed quickly is to get links from high PR sites. They are both easy to find and free to get. With this method, you will no doubt have your site listed on Google in no time!

It’s always hard to get started with Google indexing. Digg works well, or, if you have an existing site with some PageRank, just link to your new site from there!

I agree! Very good advice. Digg and the others work amazingly well and have brought me lots of traffic, have helped me create better meta tags(using the info from my site metrics)and overall has given me a better feel for how all of this works.
