You may think that “Digging” your pages (submitting to Digg.com) might be useless. After all, like 0.001% of “dug” pages make it to the Digg.com main page. But the secret that a lot of people don’t know about Digg is that they can help you get listed in search engines fast!

When GettingMoreVisitors.com was started about a week ago, nobody wanted to exchange links with me because I was a new site and therefore, not yet indexed in Google. Usually it takes Google at least a week or two to find new sites on the internet (unless you do some crazy marketing). After I dug my first blog post, GettingMoreVistors.com was almost instantly indexed in Google

If the content you Digg is good and unique, there is a higher chance (maybe 0.1% or something) that your page will make it to the mainpage. If this is the case, prepare for TONS of traffic. Sites get up to 100,000 or more visitors on average from a Digg.com mainpage plug. (By the way, make sure you have a good server otherwise the traffic will take your site down in an instant…and you’ll miss out on all that good traffic.)

So the moral of this story is to submit all your pages to Digg, especially if you are a new site. Who knows? You might even get lucky… and if you don’t you’ll still be in Google.
